The Social Action Committee is coordinating the effort to provide disadvantaged families with the food needed to prepare a home cooked Thanksgiving dinner. The families we help included clients of Elizabeth Homes (families transitioning from homelessness) and CHAPs (Columbus Homes Assisting Parents) as well as All Saints parishioners. There are several ways to get involved.
• Shop for and/or deliver a food basket to a family in Knox County. We will provide a list of suggested food and we will not be going into houses. We will be leaving the food at the doorstep after confirming someone is home.
• Donate Wal-Mart gift cards ($10 or $20 denominations) or make a cash donation.
Please contact Eileen Ruppel (ewruppel1@gmail.com or 865-898-7926) if you are interested in helping to either shop or deliver a basket or have any questions. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please label for Thanksgiving Baskets and put in the Sunday collection basket or send to church office.
